Islamabad ( ) – A high-level delegation of the Gilgit-Baltistan chapter of the All Pakistan Newspapers and Electronic Media Employees Confederation (APNEC), a representative organization of journalists and media workers, met with the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir.
The delegation was led by Central Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Anzar, while Chairperson of the Gilgit-Baltistan chapter, Mehvesh Mumtaz Baig, along with other office bearers, was also present on the occasion.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, during which detailed discussions took place regarding bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, the regional situation, and potential areas of media cooperation. Both sides agreed that the media can play a key role in strengthening people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir stated that Tajikistan attaches great importance to its brotherly relations with Pakistan and that the media can serve as a positive bridge in promoting trade, culture, and people-to-people connections between the two nations. He appreciated the role of Pakistani journalists and said that accurate and balanced reporting helps promote harmony and cooperation in the region.
Central Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Anzar, speaking on behalf of the delegation, said that the media can play an effective role in bringing the two countries closer. He proposed exchange visits of journalists from Pakistan and Tajikistan, as well as the organization of joint seminars and media forums, to enhance information sharing and further strengthen bilateral ties.
The meeting also emphasized that the media must play a responsible and constructive role in promoting regional connectivity between Central Asian countries and Pakistan. The delegation briefed the ambassador on the organization’s activities, while the ambassador expressed his commitment to continuing mutual cooperation.
